Travelers have several options for reaching Sajek Valley from Dhaka, typically starting with a journey by road.
NJP → NJP Itinerary (3 Nights / 4 Days)
Mirik (1N) + Darjeeling (1N) + Bijanbari (1N)
Day 1: NJP → Mirik (Lake Stay)
Pickup from NJP after pickup drive via Siliguri → Dudhia → Mirik. It approximately takes 2.5–3 hrs. Taking the route from Siliguri to Mirik via Dudhia (often called the Mirik-Siliguri Road) is a smooth and picturesque drive that transitions from riverbeds to rolling tea estates. The journey begins with a stop at Dudhia, a charming riverside spot on the banks of the Balason River, where you can enjoy the shallow waters and the scenic bridge. As the road starts to climb, you will pass through the expansive Longview Tea Estate, one of the largest in the region, followed by the iconic Tingling Viewpoint, which offers a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the saucer-shaped tea gardens below. Continuing the ascent, the air turns cooler as you enter the dense pine forests of the Dhupi forest area, eventually reaching Mirik. Once there, you can explore the tranquil Sumendu Lake, cross the arched Rainbow Bridge, and visit the hilltop Bokar Monastery for a peaceful conclusion to your trip.

Day 2: Mirik → Darjeeling (Hill Town Experience)
The drive from Mirik to Darjeeling via Rishi Road and Sukhia Pokhari is the most scenic and direct route, typically taking about 2 to 2.5 hours. Starting from Mirik, the road winds through high-altitude ridges, offering a famous stop at the Simana Viewpoint, where you can stand on the edge of the Indo-Nepal border with a stunning view of the Maneybhanjan valley and the Kanchenjunga range. A short detour from here can take you to the Pashupati Market in Nepal for some quick shopping before the road dives into the deep, misty pine and oak forests of the Senchal range. After passing through the quiet junction of Sukhia Pokhari, you’ll enter the serene village of Lepchajagat, a hidden gem known for its tranquility and dense forest trails. The final stretch takes you through Ghoom, home to the world's highest railway station and historic monasteries, before descending into the heart of Darjeeling.

Day 3: Darjeeling → Bijanbari (Offbeat Valley Stay)
After breakfast then drive to Bijanbari , it almost takes 2–2.5 hrs to reach. The drive from Darjeeling to Bijanbari is a dramatic descent through offbeat landscapes that transitions from misty alpine ridges to a lush, tropical valley. Starting from the heights of Ghoom, your first stop is the picturesque Hima Falls, a roadside waterfall perfect for a quick photo session by its mountain stream. As you wind down the steep ridges, you'll encounter the massive Biswambhar Rock and pass through some of the world's most elite tea gardens, including Marybong and Rishihat, which offer stunning panoramic views of Darjeeling town across the valley. A major highlight on this route is the Balwabas Skywalk, Darjeeling's first glass-bottomed bridge, providing a thrilling view of the Chota Rangeet River rushing beneath you. Upon reaching the valley floor, you can explore the bustling traditional market at Pulbazar before relaxing at the Jamuni Tourist Park, a scenic riverside spot famous for its temple and movie-filming locations, all surrounded by the vibrant orange orchards and cardamom fields that define Bijanbari.

Day 4: Bijanbari → NJP Drop
After a relaxed breakfast in the valley, your journey from Bijanbari to NJP begins with a scenic climb back toward the Darjeeling ridges, passing through the lush tea gardens and the Hima Falls before reaching the main highway. From there, you will head toward Darjeeling More and take the well-paved Rohini Road, which is widely considered the best route for a smooth descent. Along this stretch, you can enjoy final panoramic views of the Siliguri plains from the Rohini Viewpoint and perhaps take a quick break at Rohini Lake. Once you reach the flatlands, the drive continues through the bustling streets of Siliguri, eventually leading you to your final drop-off at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station.
