Dwarka to Gir Escape

 Day 1: Journey to the Holy City of Dwarka

Arrive at Ahmedabad or Rajkot and set off on a captivating drive through the heart of Gujarat, gradually leaving behind the bustling cities for the calm, coastal charm of Dwarka at the western edge of the peninsula. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and refresh before visiting the revered Dwarkadhish Temple, where the rhythmic chants and glowing lamps of the evening aarti create a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Later, take a gentle walk along Gomti Ghat or cross the elegant Sudama Setu, where the cool sea breeze and the sight of the temple beautifully lit against the night sky offer a peaceful and memorable close to your day.

Day 2: Exploration of Bet Dwarka and Sacred Shrines

On the second day set out to explore the sacred surroundings of Dwarka. Travel to Okha Jetty and embark on a scenic ferry ride across the Arabian Sea to reach Bet Dwarka, believed to be the original residence of Lord Krishna, where the spiritual aura and simplicity of the island create a deeply peaceful experience. On your return to the mainland, visit the revered Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve sacred shrines of Lord Shiva, and then stop by the tranquil Gopi Talab, known for its mythological significance. As the day winds down, spend your evening visiting the serene Rukmini Devi Temple and relax at Shivrajpur Beach, where the golden sands and clear blue waters, paired with a beautiful sunset, offer the perfect and calming end to your day. 

Day 3: Direct Transfer from Dwarka to Somnath

Leave Dwarka in the morning and drive straight down the coastal highway to reach Somnath by the afternoon. Once you arrive and check in, visit the legendary Somnath Temple, a stunning example of Chalukya architecture situated right on the edge of the Arabian Sea. In the evening, immerse yourself in the local history by watching the vibrant light and sound show that narrates the temple’s many destructions and triumphant reconstructions.

Day 4: Morning Pilgrimage and Entry into Sasan Gir

Begin your day at the holy Bhalka Tirth, the site where Lord Krishna is said to have been struck by an arrow, and visit the Triveni Sangam where three rivers meet the sea. After these spiritual visits, drive toward the dense teak forests of Sasan Gir and settle into your jungle lodge or wildlife resort. Spend the afternoon exploring the Gir Interpretation Zone at Devalia to see lions and leopards in a protected environment before enjoying a quiet evening by the forest.

Day 5: Lion Safari and Final Departure

Wake up before dawn for a thrilling Jeep safari into the heart of Gir National Park, the only place in the world where you can see Asiatic lions in their natural wild habitat. Watch for diverse wildlife including sambar deer, crocodiles, and various bird species as your guide tracks the movements of the lion prides through the scrubland. After completing the safari, return to your resort for breakfast and begin the return journey to Rajkot or Ahmedabad for your evening departure.
